Vygantas Navickas 5q5e1a
I am Vygantas Navickas, a self-taught artist from Lithuania. My art is a reflection of chaos and the diversity of life, where every detail holds its own story and emotion. I love to experiment with different techniques and themes, unafraid to make mistakes or stray from tradition. Often, I use objects that have lost their value, yet in my hands, they are reborn, finding new life as if awakening anew.
While my work may appear chaotic, beneath the surface, it reveals themes of freedom, independence, and inner devotion. It’s like an inner journey when something completely consumes you, and you break free from everyday life, forgetting everything around you and existing solely in this moment – here and now. Each brushstroke, each creation is an attempt to immerse myself in this deep feeling where time stops, and the soul is free.
Through my art, I try to hide the inner pain and depression caused by a severe heart condition. It’s my way of coping with what words often fail to express. Only when creating do I manage to forget and escape the thought that there is little time left to live. Every artwork is not just a piece of art but a form of freedom – a chance to feel, to create, and to live with the full pulse of my heart, even though it is damaged.

Charity Auction: Let’s Help Penkta Koja!
I, Vygantas Navickas, invite you to a noble initiative—an auction aimed at ing Penkta Koja, the largest dog shelter in Lithuania. This organization strives to reduce the number of stray animals through humane means such as sterilization, responsible adoption, and public education.

A Wonderful Morning in the Club: Art, Music, and Inspiring Conversations 6g3j42
Recently, our like-minded club gathered for a morning filled with music, poetry, and warm conversations. My new painting exhibition, "My Soul Calls for Colors," was introduced, inviting reflection on an inner world full of emotions and energy.
The musical atmosphere was created by the melodies of composer, organist, and choral conductor Juozas Naujalis. Rasa Endriukaitienė, the artistic director of the Domeikava Choir “Versmė,” shared insights about Naujalis's works and legacy. This year marks three important anniversaries for the composer: the 155th anniversary of his birth, the 90th anniversary of his death, and 100 years since the first Lithuanian Song Festival held in 1924. The event was complemented by Rasa's autumn poetry, adding warmth and a personal touch.
Additionally, club shared impressions from the books they had read. One of the most remarkable was "The Art Thief" by Michael Finkel, an intriguing true story of global art theft that provides a deeper understanding of the art world and its secrets.
A heartfelt thank you for the warm gathering, and we eagerly await future opportunities to come together and share the spirit of art.
A New Chapter in My Artistic Journey: I Became a Member of the “Vaivorykštė” Art Studio u5o13
As of October 23, 2024, I am excited to announce that I have become a member of the “Vaivorykštė” Art Studio. This studio is one of the oldest art studios in the Kaunas cultural center and has a rich history that dates back to 1946 when it was established in the former Kaunas Trade Union Culture House.
“Vaivorykštė” brings together amateur artists who strive not only to improve their craft but also to share experiences and inspiration with one another. I am thrilled to be a part of this creative community. I believe this hip will open new opportunities for me to grow, broaden my horizons, and participate in various events and exhibitions.
I am confident that “Vaivorykštė” will serve as a great platform for my artistic ideas and projects. I will share my experiences and thoughts about this new journey, so stay tuned to my blog!
