Opera legata all’interpretazione ed alla suggestione delle superfici naturali, dei colori della natura, mutevoli, inafferrabili talvolta. L’opera presenta un duplice aspetto, visivo e tattile, la superficie è infatti lavorata in diversi strati, con una base a gesso e smalto che rimane visibile nella parte sinistra più liscia, e applicazioni manuali di stucco ruvido che creano delle parti scabre in rilievo, lavorate con spatolate di pennello. I colori, estremamente pastosi e caldi, vanno dalle tonalità dell’ocra, del beige, fino all’oro, in pennellate, visibili, di oro chiaro e oro scuro rossastro.
Nell’insieme la tela, le cui tonalità appaiono omogenee a distanza, ha un grande dinamismo nel movimento delle pennellate e nella varietà della superficie.
Valentina Majer, a contemporary Italian artist, has cultivated a multifaceted journey in both academia and the world of art. Graduating from the University "Ca Foscari" of Venice with a degree in art and subsequently earning the title of art historian from the University "La Sapienza" of Rome, she has continuously pursued her ion for creative expression.
Her educational pursuits have been complemented by practical training, including three courses at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica and an anatomy course at the Academy of Fine Arts. Now based in Rome, Valentina thrives as both an artist and art historian, weaving together her scholarly knowledge with her innate talent for drawing and painting.
Valentina's artistic vision is characterized by the exploration of fragments—the remnants of forgotten spaces, urban decay, and industrial landscapes. Through her work, she embarks on a journey of discovery, guided by her instinctual belief in the hidden beauty that resides within decay and transformation.
Drawing inspiration from textures and surfaces found in the human landscape, such as architecture and ancient buildings weathered by time, Valentina's art invites viewers to contemplate the rich tapestry of memories and emotions embedded within these structures. Her pieces serve as blank pages, inviting curiosity and introspection, as they offer glimpses into a world steeped in secrets, fragility, and dreams.
