Tony Rodríguez (b. 1980, Santiago de Cuba, Cuba)

Painter | Illustrator | Art teacher

Tony Rodríguez is a Cuban-American artist known for his monumental paintings that explore the relationship between technology, artificial intelligence, and social disconnection. He holds a degree in Art Education and a Master of Science in Art Education from the University of Oriente in Santiago de Cuba. Throughout his career, he has worked as a painter, illustrator, and curator.

His work is characterized by bold compositions and aggressive drawing techniques, where structures such as towers, buildings, and machines symbolize human history and experience. Often referred to as "the painter of reflection", Rodríguez invites viewers to critically analyze contemporary society.

He has exhibited in Cuba, the United States, the Dominican Republic, and several European countries. His work has been featured in the Havana Biennial and is part of prestigious collections, including Imago Mundi (Luciano Benetton Collection) and the Miami Hispanic Cultural Arts Center. He has also served as a juror in visual arts competitions and worked for many years as an art professor.

Currently, he lives and works in Miami, Florida.
