John Lumby has been active in Photography for many decades. Most of his work is centred around alpine landscapes and covering the route JMW Turner took through the alps in the 19th Century.

A rising talent in fine art photography, John Lumby captures landscapes, architecture, and the changing world in breathtaking light and composition.

We will be ing his portfolio of photographs that follow JMW Turner's theme in the coming months. John Lumby has traced the steps of JMW Turner and researched all his sketches of cities and landscapes, and taken real life photographs of these. This has helped in the research of untitled works by JMW Turner and indeed has assisted the Tate Gallery in identifying some works that were mistitled.
