ENTITLED; 'STAGECOACH MARY IN 2024'

MEDIA; ACRYLIC PAINT and GOLD METALLIC PAINT ON STRETCHED- CANVAS BOARD - READY TO HANG.

EXPLANATION:
This painting is a tribute to Mary Fields, an Afro American female who was born into slavery around 1832 in Hicks County, Tennessee, USA. Following the Emancipation Proclamation she grew up on her own during a very troubling time in American History. However, she proved herself to be a faithful friend and refused to allow the color of her skin to hold her back, but exuded the strength to carve out a place that she eventually called 'home' in Cascade, Montanna. It is my honor just to name a few of her remarkable achievements; in her lifetime...she owned a laundry, owned a day-care and became the town's baseball team mascot.
And in addition, when such a thing was deemed impossible, Ms Fields, at the age of 60, became our nation's first Afro American Mail Carrier. She was dedicated, dependable and trust-worthy... excelling at her job.
Indeed, against all odds, by the time she died in 1914 in Montanna, Mary had gained the respect, and love of many. Her presence was felt back then, and even now today...her memory is still treasured and celebrated in Cascade.
Undeniably, she was a very 'unique woman'...who adapted to the very hard times she was birthed into and survived... by the Grace of God.

The facts mentioned above can be obtained and ed by googling 'Mary Fields'.

Jmsbell, born in 1944, is a self-taught painter and photographer who lives and works in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Her return to painting came unexpectedly between 2009 and 2010, while she was living in a homeless shelter. Unable to afford professional training, she taught herself, with the conviction that life is the greatest teacher.

Since ing on Artmajeur eight years ago, Jmsbell has continually progressed, and her artistic evolution is visible in her works. She is often complimented for her "good eye", a recognition she holds in high esteem. Each of her creations reflects her personal journey, marked by her Christian faith and her strong awareness of the presence of God in her life. Her art, whether in the form of painting or photography, is always imbued with an inspiring and spiritual dimension.
