The most striking aspect of Oneiric Vertigo is its deliberate blurring of the human form. The face, typically the focal point of identity, is rendered indistinct, dissolving into the surrounding space. This technique symbolizes the elusive nature of dreams, where faces and figures morph without warning, resisting definition.
Key Symbolic Elements:

Blurred Identity: The lack of sharp detail suggests the instability of self within dreams, where personas shift and merge.

Ethereal Ambiguity: The soft, undefined edges evoke the sensation of slipping in and out of consciousness, a hallmark of oneiric (dream-related) experiences.

Disorientation (Vertigo): The title reinforces the feeling of losing balance, as if the viewer is caught in a spiraling dreamscape.

Artistic References:

Dorothea Tanning – Known for her surreal, dreamlike paintings that distort the human form.

Bill Jacobson – A photographer renowned for his blurred, impressionistic portraits.

Leonor Fini – Explored the subconscious through enigmatic, masked figures.

Hans Bellmer & Man Ray – Both distorted the human body to challenge perceptions of reality.

This photograph does not merely depict a dream—it becomes one, pulling the viewer into its hypnotic ambiguity.

Felipe Hueb is a Brazilian Visual Artist and photographer certified by the New York Institute of Photography. He was raised by a family of artists and musicians and has always been fascinated by classical art. At the age of 18 he began to photograph just for Hobby. At the age of 28, he left his career as an electrical engineer in a multinational company and decided to dedicate himself only to photography. It was quite an adventure.

He started by photographing boudoir and artistic nude essays. He photographed tirelessly due to his ion for his work. At the same time, he improved his techniques and entered photographic contests. After a year of working as a professional photographer, he got 3 honorable mentions, one from the Moscow International Foto Awards and two from the Monochrome Contest Awards in the Fine Art and Art Nude categories.

His art always seeks to impress the viewer. Felipe uses techniques to give more movement and mystery to photography. The goal is to freeze the emotion of the moment and impress the viewer in some way. Felipe has also provided photography and video services to large companies abroad, such as British American Tobacco in Cuba, the Embassy of Portugal in Brazil, and large Panamanian companies. He has also published 2 books: The Art of Photography and The Portugal Embassy in Brazil. He currently lives in Brasília making new art daily.
