Eugeniusz Gerlach was born in 1941 in Bieniawa. In the years 1955 - 1960 he attended the State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Wrocław. In the years 1960 - 1966 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, at the Faculty of Painting and Graphics. He studied easel and architectural painting in the studio of prof. Wacław Taranczewski, and workshop graphics with prof. Mieczysław Wejman. He obtained his diploma with distinction in 1966. The supervisors of his diploma thesis were, among others: Wacław Taranczewski, Czesław Rzepiński, Jonasz Stern and Hanna Rudzka-Cybisowa. He lives and works in Krakow. Since 1966, he has been a member of the Association of Polish Artists. His achievements include over 70 individual exhibitions and participation in approximately 80 collective exhibitions, where he won awards and distinctions. He twice receives a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and Art. Paintings by Eugeniusz Gerlach are in many museums and institutions, as well as in private collections in Poland and abroad (including Canada, the USA, , , Sweden, Austria, South Africa and Japan).
