Ich zeichne autodidaktisch – angefangen hat alles schon als Kind, mit dem typischen Drang, Dinge aufs Papier zu bringen, die sich mit Worten nicht beschreiben lassen. Nach einer langen Pause von fast zwanzig Jahren habe ich das Zeichnen wieder aufgenommen – ruhiger, konzentrierter, aber mit derselben Faszination für Linie, Licht und Fläche.

Meine bevorzugten Medien sind Kohle und Bleistift – direkt, ehrlich, reduziert. Hin und wieder greife ich auch zu Farbstiften, wenn ein Motiv es verlangt.

Ich komme von der Küste, was man meinen Bildern vielleicht anmerkt: Sie sind oft ruhig, zurückhaltend, manchmal fast nordisch-kühl. Es geht mir nicht um Lautstärke, sondern um Atmosphäre – um das, was zwischen den Dingen liegt.

Ich nehme oft und gern Aufträge an, besonders wenn Menschen, Gesten oder bestimmte Stimmungen im Mittelpunkt stehen. Was mich interessiert, sind nicht nur Gesichter oder Objekte, sondern das, was darunter liegt – das, was nicht laut ist, aber bleibt.
