Changhai Li is a contemporary Chinese artist, born in Handan, Hebei, China, in 1969. He graduated with a major in ceramic art from Hebei Light Industry Management School in 1990 and later earned his degree from the Department of Fine Arts at Hebei Normal University in 1996. In 2008, he entered the Beijing Songzhuang Art District, where he began focusing on contemporary painting and actively participated in numerous group exhibitions. His works have been collected by art institutions and private collectors, reflecting his significant contribution to the art scene.
Over the years, Changhai Li’s art has been showcased in various prominent exhibitions. In 2021, his work was featured at the Art Beijing Art Fair in Beijing. The previous year, he participated in “Sit - Contemporary Art Exhibition” at the Shijiazhuang Shicaotang NIU Art Space. In 2019, his art was exhibited at the Songzhuang Art Fair held at the Songzhuang Art Museum. In 2018, he showcased his work internationally at the Miami Red Dot Art Fair in the United States. Earlier, in 2017, his art was part of several significant events, including the 10th Songzhuang Culture and Art Festival at the Shangshang International Art Museum, “Descendants' Questioning 2” at the Descendants Art Museum, and “Images Born from the Environment” at Sumeng Gallery.
In 2016, he participated in exhibitions such as “Across the Strait” and “Graffiti - Free Writing” in Beijing. His earlier exhibitions include “Art Changes the Countryside” in 2015 and a group exhibition at Jiuceng Art Museum in 2014. Notable events in 2013 and 2012 include the White Temple Project Group Exhibition and the Songzhuang Marginal Artists Group Exhibition in Beijing. In 2011, his work was part of the AAB Beijing Affordable Art Festival at 798 Space, the “I CAN PAY Art Festival” in Shanghai, and a group exhibition at Langham Gallery in Beijing. His artistic journey began gaining recognition with exhibitions like the 5th Songzhuang Art Festival titled “Community Community” in 2009 and “Live 2” in 2008.
