Ulrike Neuhaus, born in Dortmund.
In 1994, during a mentally calm phase, I began painting with watercolors on a vacation at the North Sea. At first I painted flowers and landscapes, tried pencil, charcoal and pastel drawings, acrylic and oil painting.
From 1995 I was in the studio working group at the art school in Bochum-Wattenscheid.
I couldn't stop painting in oil and the canvases quickly became larger. The oil paints with their creamy consistency are perfect for me.
I also really enjoyed painting industrial monuments and cityscapes in North Rhine-Westphalia. It was always important to me to have seen what I wanted to paint myself and to have taken the photos for it myself.
I am still fascinated by cityscapes and motifs from the city. The harbor in Flensburg, Schleswig, Sylt, or Husum.
I paint everything that I like. I particularly enjoy abstract spatula work.
