Glossy finish
Apart from its exceptional thickness, the fiber paper is composed of an alpha-cellulose base without acid and it is covered with barium sulphate, and a microporous layer absorption enhancing pigments during printing. "Echoes Beneath the Surface" is an intuitive abstract exploration of memory and emotion embedded in texture. Created in a meditative state, the painting carries layers of soft pinks, moody blues, and textured whites — like geological strata of thought and time. The piece invites the viewer to linger, to read between the brushstrokes, to listen for the echo of something half-ed.
This work is about inner landscapes — fragile, shifting, and raw. Small elements like handprints and marks hint at presence, gestures, or traces left behind. It is not about answers, but about resonance — how certain colors, scratches, and layers evoke something visceral.
This painting is part of my ongoing abstract series that delves into emotional cartography, subconscious rituals, and textural storytelling.

Alexandra Jagoda (Ovcharenko) is a contemporary Ukrainian artist born on September 15, 1975, in Ukraine. She has spent half her life in Europe, and since 1999, she has been living and working in Belgium. For Alexandra, painting is a form of meditation, a practice that allows her to lose track of time as she designs and creates new worlds that no one has ever seen before.
Specializing in portraiture, Alexandra finds it fascinating to observe people, visualize their actions and behaviors, and then transform these observations into images on canvas. Her special love is for portraits of women, whom she views as ambiguous and mysterious, filled with a magic that is both alluring and complex. For her, women represent a bottomless world, akin to the rabbit hole Alice fell into in Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Though her primary focus is portraiture, Alexandra also occasionally paints landscapes and flowers.
